Easy Grilled Apples

This time of the year is definitely my most favorite–queue the apple picking, pumpkin patching, leave raking…so why not enjoy the best parts of fall? The delicious food! Today I want to show you how we’re enjoying these falls days with these yummy and EASY grilled apples! Tonight after we grilled some BBQ chicken on the grill, I wrapped apples up in foil with this simple recipe and let them grill while we ate dinner. Once dinner was over, I pulled them off, let them cool a few minutes, and topped them with ice cream! It was the perfect dessert with no prep or mess to clean up!

What you need to make Grilled Apples

Apples with core removed

butter

brown sugar

cinnamon

topped with ice cream

aluminum foil

How to make Grilled Apples:

Start by cleaning your apples, then using an apple slicer to cut them. Place the apple slicer on top of a medium sized piece of aluminum foil before cutting, then pull the core out and wrap the foil tightly around the apple…only leaving an opening at the top.

Next, slice a small piece of butter off a stick, then slice it in half and place down the center of the apple. Then pack in about 1 tablespoon (more or less) of brown sugar down the center of the apple. Finally top with a sprinkling of cinnamon on top, then close up the foil.

Place directly on the grill and cook for about 20-30 minutes. You may need to open up the foil and check to see how crisp they are and adjust your time accordingly.

After they are cooked, pull them off the grill and dump them into a bowl with all the juices, top with ice cream and even caramel and enjoy!!

I REALLY wish I could explain in words to you the smell that these apples make while they are cooking. It’s unbelievable. They’re the PERFECT fall snack.

• ice cream
