This is an oldie, but a few years ago I made this fun Fall Leaf Wreath as part of a contributor post for Real Housemoms. Today I thought I’d resurrect this Easy Fall Wreath and show how even the least crafty person can create a gorgeous statement piece for their front door for fall! See how easy this is to make!
Easy Fall Leaf Wreath
What you need:
Hot Glue
Small piece of fabric
Ribbon to hang
How to:
I started by gluing leaves layered one on top of the other on the sides (inside and out) of the wreath first.
Once the sides were covered, I started layering them on the top, being sure to cover all the white styrofoam. Once it was all covered, I went back and added a few more leaves on top of the existing to give it a nice layered effect. I only added one dab of glue to each leaf so that it didn’t appear matted down, but rather had lots of volume. For the inside leaves, I glued the ones that overlapped onto the top down so that it looked more seamless when I added the top layer of leaves.
Once all my leaves were added I got to working on my bow. It isn’t very festive without a large bow!! And you’ll be SHOCKED how easy a bow is!!
Step One: Lay out your fabric. I cut mine into a rectangle and depending on how big you want it, you can adjust the size. I’d start large and then whittle it down if needed. Cut another longer piece about 2 inches wide to tie your bow off with.
Step Two and three: Fold your fabric on top of itself length wise, meeting but not overlapping in the middle
Step Four and Five: Fold your bow in again width wise, meeting but not overlapping in the middle
Step Six: Pinch center of the bow and then use your longer piece from Step One to tie it off.
Tie your bow off in the center and adjust and fluff out the sides as needed to adjust it.
Adhere your bow to your wreath either using hot glue or pins. If you use pins you can change bow out from time to time as needed. I also used a strip of burlap ribbon I had on hand to hang the wreath up with.
The whole thing took no time at all and it’s probably one of my favorite wreathes to date!! I hope you enjoyed!!
