I cannot believe that school is just about a month away from starting in our school District…but even my son is happy to go back. He told me the other day he misses his 2nd grade teacher, Mr. H, after a great year last year. And even though he won’t have Mr. H this year, it’s nice to know that he’s going back in the hands of great teachers in a great school District here. I thought in honor of school starting soon and Crayola’s new Thank a Teacher contest, I’d share with you this easy Melted Crayon Teddy Bear tutorial!

How to melt crayons:
This is SUCH an easy tutorial. You basically just need to break up your old crayons, fill up the silicone trays, then place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10-15 minutes (or until melted).
Once out of the oven, I placed in the freezer to speed up the cooling process. After they are cool, I popped them out of the molds and wrapped some twine around their necks, then let the kids use them to write their teacher’s a note or draw them a drawing!!
As the parent of a son who had a STELLAR teacher who went out of his way this past year for our son…gave him extra tutoring for free, was SO patient with him, and really wanted to see him succeed…I cannot stress enough the importance of taking the time to thank your teachers this school year and make sure that they know that they are making a difference in your child’s life. A simple thank you is not only SO special for that teacher, but entering the Thank a Teacher contest makes it even more beneficial because they could win some great prizes just by you entering!
