Last Day of School 2020 Printables {Distance Learning Edition}

This school year has been quite a challenge, I think we would all agree. Hats off to all you teachers out there who wrangle our kids and teach them with patience and understanding every day. If this period of Stay at Home taught me nothing else, it’s that first and foremost…I’m not smarter than a fifth grader and second, I would not make a good teacher. But the up side is that I relearned a lot of things that I’d previously forgotten how to do by hand and that I had to work on my patience with my kids and teach them what they would be learning in school from their much more patient teachers. The first few weeks were rough, but as we finished up week eight and school for the 2019/2020 season came to a close, I think we found some common ground and normalcy with our new schedule. I will say, definitely, though…I’m so glad school is out for the summer!! To celebrate the last day of Distance Learning school this year, I thought I’d make a cute set of Last Day of School 2020 Printables for families to memorialize this bizarre and unprecedented school year that we’ve had!

Last Day of School 2020 Printables {Free Distance Learning Edition}

To celebrate the last day of Distance Learning school this year, I thought I’d make a cute set of free printables for families to memorialize this bizarre and unprecedented school year that we’ve had! We even created a Home Schooling 2020 printable for parents to hold up to celebrate their end of being teachers for this school year 🙂

All you have to do is print them off and take a few snapshots of your kids so that someday they can look back at this moment and laugh and the craziness that was the year of 2020. For my fourth grader and Kindergartener, they miss their friends and teachers so much, but they are thrilled that summer is here and that we all get to stay home together…which is something that my family never gets to experience.

For my kids, having two working parents means going to daycare summer camps each year for 8-10 hours a day. I can honestly look at this whole experience and take solace in the fact that I’m getting this one unique opportunity to spend time with my kids that I will likely never ever have again as a working parent. After maternity leave, you rarely get the chance to be home with your kids full time and work full time. So although this was definitely an adjustment for my family, I do feel very comforted knowing I’m getting some extra one on one time with my kids, while they’re still young, that I’ll never likely get again in this lifetime.

Crazy way to think about it, huh?? But for working moms, we don’t have the luxury of summers by the pool or at the park. Our kids get to do those things, but with other people. And although this summer will still be much of the same for me, at least I get to be home with them spending time together, eating three meals a day together, watching them play outside with the neighbor kids and do the things that kids are supposed to do during the summer!

For me…home schooling/distance learning was QUITE the challenge, but I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to spend this time with my kids, sleep in late, stay up later, cuddle more, bake more, and just be together more than we will ever get the chance to again. Embrace this time, friends, while you have it!
