How often do you all take a good look…I mean, a really good look at the cabinets in your house? The other day I was leaning down getting something out of the cupboard when I noticed just how filthy my cabinets were. I mean…FILTHY you guys! Caked on, splattered on, dripped on, disgusting-ness and I was immediately appalled. I started looking harder at all the cabinets and immediately realized that I haven’t taken the time to thoroughly clean my cabinets since we moved in (three years ago…gasp!!). It’s such a daunting task to clean kitchen cabinets too! I started trying to use a wet rag and soap and it was taking forever…so I finally decided, forget this and I pulled out the big guns. I pulled out my brand new HomeRight SteamMachine and got to work!! Today I want to show you HOW TO CLEAN KITCHEN CABINETS with the power of steam and why this is the easiest way to clean cabinets from grease and grime!
In order to clean your cabinets you need the following items:
Dry towel for floor
Wet cloth for cabinets
Cleaner of choice
Optional: essential oils in lemon or grapefruit
Start by filling your HomeRight SteamMachine Elite with water and add in 6-10 drops of essential oils like lemon or grapefruit. The citrusy smell does great when you’re steam cleaning the cabinets! Let your machine pre-heat about 10 minutes until the yellow button turns off.
While it’s pre-heating, I would suggest using your vacuum attachment to clean the dust and debris from the base of the cabinets. This will save you the hassle of hair getting stuck in the nozzles later on. Once vacuumed, I lay down a towel underneath the cabinet I’m cleaning and get to work.

I literally spent about 15 seconds steaming this and going back and forth with the nozzle. Then I turned it off and wiped the cabinet down with a wet rag to gather up any debris.
AFTER

A little personal preference…I’m OBSESSED with the smell of Fabuloso Cleaner. It makes the room smell so fresh and amazing. I plan to finish up my cabinet project by putting some Fabuloso in a bottle mixed with water, spraying it on my cabinets, then steam cleaning them and wiping it off. It will literally make your house smell so great.
Once you’re done cleaning your cabinets, dry them off with a clean, dry towel. If desired, you can apply wood polish like THIS one.
